Entry level Glassblowers or Welding experience

$18 – $35 an hour

LTD Material is looking for experienced Glassblowers to work in our Austin Texas facility. The Glassblower will produce quartzglas products to customer specifications.

Responsibilities Include:

– Fabricate products to customer specifications, quality requirements and established efficiency standards

– Understand and use proper flame integrity/size and application

– Use proper torch based on required operation

– Understand usage of quartz cutting tools

– Understand the flame application and torch positioning to make tubing product with proper wall integrity and an aesthetically pleasing finish

– Load, unload, align and control the speed of lathes

– Splice tubes together, close end of tubes and attach small joint on products suitable for category

– Seal small bore tubing to large bore tubing

– Bend small bore tubes without destroying wall integrity

– Pull down and dome off tubing while maintaining wall thickness integrity

– Spin seal larger bore tubing

– Use proper welding techniques

– Use proper PPE

– Operate all equipment according to safety requirements

Requirements Include:

– HS diploma or equivalent

– Proficient in basic math and measuring equipment

– Ability to read blueprints and work instructions

– Ability to interpret customer specifications and requirements

– Lathe experience

– 5 years experience in glassblowing production

– Ability to position body with many angles of wrist, arm and torso movement

– Ability to withstand uncomfortable high heat on arms, face, hands and upperbody

– Must be able to stand and maintain body position for extended periods of time

– Excellent eyesight

Pay: $18.00 – $35.00 per hour

CMM Programmer

$24 – $28 an hour

Job description

We are seeking a career-minded individual for the position of CMM Programmer. In addition to the job description below, candidates must possess strong customer service skills, an eye for detail, and the ability to multi-task at a quick pace. Being a team player is a must!

Responsibilities:

  • Create new and correct, modify and rewrite existing CMM inspection programs.
  • Plan and perform check-piece, in process, and final inspection
  • Inspect incoming materials, in-process components, and finished goods to ensure quality and adherence to specifications.
  • Proven experience/ability with mechanical inspection tools – calipers, optical comparators, bore gages, digital height gages, O.D./I.D. micrometers, indicators, Rockwell hardness testing, gage pins/blocks and microscopes
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency with MS Excel
  • Resolve quality compliance problems with other internal departments
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of Geometric Dimension & Tolerance (GD&T) interpretation.
  • Advanced knowledge of PC DMIS.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite applications.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication skills.

Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Associate’s degree.
  • Three years of CMM programming experience
  • GD&T proficiency and experience
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in CMM programming, inspection, measurement, and fixture development.
  • 3 to 5 years Geometric Dimension & Tolerance (GD&T).

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Frequently required to sit, walk, or stand
  • Continually utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use a keyboard
  • Frequently required to lift/push/carry items up to 50 pounds
  • Work on Specialized equipment
